Qalchek Pty Ltd was established in 1993 by Ian and Elaine Moore and Graham and Denise Mills.

The business grew legs when Sydney Water announced that they planned to turn over specific government responsibilities to private industry providers.

As an employee of Sydney Water at the time, Graham knew the in’s and out’s of the industry and with his partners, worked together to create a business that expanded at a significant rate.

Starting out, Qalchek was just a quality checking company. After only one year of operation there became a strong demand to also provide a design service.

Developers wanted to work with people who could tell them exactly how they should be designing, to adhere to requirements and to gain the approvals they needed, at a fast pace.

Fast forward to 2020 and Qalchek continues to dominate the industry, offering a full service from approval assistance to design works and construction coordination

MEET THE TEAM

Having started out with only four people on the team, Qalchek now employs approximately 30 staff, many of whom have been with the company for over a decade.

David Loizou

Managing Director
David is a Co-owner and the Managing Director of Qalchek Pty Ltd. Having been part of Qalchek’s story for over 20 years, David became a director during his first five years.
For the last eight years he has led the Qalchek Team as Managing Director and attributes much of the company’s success to the invaluable team he has supporting him.

Melisa Loizou

Melisa Loizou

Accounts and Administration Team Manager
Melisa has been with Qalchek for over 10 years. She has a background of accounting and her previous role was running her own business with her family. Being a Co-owner and married to the managing director has its challenges, but nothing great comes easy! She enjoys a varied role of Accounts Manager, plus leading the Administration team and also works as part of Qalchek’s QA team, ensuring Qalchek’s standards are maintained and constantly improved.

Field Team Manager
Trent is a civil designer with almost 20 years experience in the industry. He has been with the company for 14 years and currently serves as Qalchek field team manager and is a senior designer and water service co-ordinator. Through this Trent has gained a great amount of knowledge in the civil, sewer and water industry which has helped him to offer guidance and complete numerous projects whilst assisting both clients and authorities.

Water Servicing Coordinator / Minor Works Projects
Weronika joined Qalchek in 2008 and coming from a hospitality background she is extremely customer service orientated. Weronika is one of our Water Service Coordinators and lodges all Sydney Water Applications and project manages all Minor Works developments. Weronika will generally be your first point of contact with Qalchek and she prides herself on her knowledge and timely communication with both clients and Sydney Water. If you are wondering, her name is pronounced ‘Veronica’.
